My point on the F2F post was to headline what they say they do . Not a flame or nothing at all

but if were gonna compare apples to apples , we can't have a few oranges in the mix

My other reason for picking SNI are as follows

    1. Freight Base
    2. Multiple Options ( choice , mileage , LP , or company & even bulk )
    3. Fuel discounts
    4. % drop and hook
    5. Ease of use of board compared to others
    6. No brokers
    7. No Qualcomm fees
    8. Most all tolls covered
    9. Operating Centers net work
    10. Roadside assistance ( you pay it but they help )
    11. Fleet discounts
    12. Paid off the Qualcomm ( delivery rec)
    13. No scanning fees
14 . Plate in small payments

at LS I can see where the rates could be higher but when you factor in some of the extra fees etc really how much farther are you ahead ? All for the pleasure to deal with a broker who most of which ( not all ) could care less about you , and have no vested interest in your success

that's why I went with SNI .. But not bashing LS

your settlement was equal to the settlement my friend sent to me. My friend runs on the choice board. Im sure both companies are fine to work for. Here is what it boils down to. Do you want to pick your freight with a fixed rate OR do you wanna haggle with an agent. If you wanna haggle, LS. If you wanna pick and roll, Schn. Both over all good companies IMHO

I'm going with Schneider because I know their system. Also, from what i've seen and heard from LS and Schneider drivers they're about the same other than LS BCOs having the ability to negotiate a higher rate. NOW i've got to find a tru k I like and the food stamps to buy it with :biggrin_25525:

I'm not bashing them simply pointing out their huge shortcomings. The rates are low seemingly artificially low in what outsiders would call hot markets. Do you not find that interesting? Ask a lot of these choice guys what they average out rate per mile to the truck and you will be shocked how many are close to the same as flat rate per mile SNI o/o. But will justify it because they pick the loads. Some of the ones doing better than that might be in the $1.65-$1.75 range. Does that sound good? You're basically locking yourself into a closed system where rates mostly have no relationship with what goes on in the real world. Schneider manipulates it's IC's and gets it done to their own benefit, cheap as possible.

You are confusing two seperate entities. Farm2Fleet and Covenant Expedite Solutions are two seperate companies. The only thing they share is utilizing the same office personnel for operations. The pay package details you posted also have nothing to do with Farm2Fleet - our contracts are very different from that. What you are looking at are requirements and stipulations for anyone wanting to lease at Covenant Expedite Solutions. F2F owners are totally different pay package, expenses and are also self dispatched o/o. CES o/o get dispatched by the office not having to look for their own loads. I'm not captive in any way shape or form to Covenant. Although I have hauled a few very lucrative loads from them. However they did not come to me and say "this is the rate" except on that one but who was I to argue about $7 a mile on a 680 mile load, it was take it or leave it, as I normally dictate to others - as you could imagine I jumped all over that one. All the other loads I set the rate as i do on every load I haul.

Hey Jar-Head, you may also wanna check out Mercer. They have a van division. You will need your own trailer. They have a trailer lease program.

Must admit it's a little disappointing to learn that it's not negotiate every load at Landstar from the inside. Until this thread I did not know that. I'd go crazy if I couldn't negotiate. To me that is the most enjoyable and rewarding part of the job. Making a deal. And the adrenaline rush that comes from making an over the top great deal. I chase that all the time like it's a drug, it's a fix. But for some people it's just about the driving. I get that as i really enjoy driving a truck myself. Good luck whatever you choose Jar Head. It's not that I'm slamming you or any company. I just have very strong opinions about these things.
