There are 61 van loads posted within 200 miles of Memphis. Rates run $2.61 to $1.28 per mile. Gross $2833 to $500 Most of the rates are $1.60 to $2.00. When I expand the search out to 300 miles there are 163 loads and one of those loads is $2.99 per mile.

    #### it used to be you took the total money showed on the load times that by .98 then times that total by .67. You got 67% of 98% of the load gross.

Hey thanks for the info guys, this is great as I am very seriously thinking of callin up LS tomorrow cause I have pretty well had it with the current carrier.
Heavy Dude - Would you mind looking to see what freight coming out of and into Dallas Ft Worth area is going for thses days with a dry box? Can a guy rent a van from LS and get the extra 8%? I think it would be worth it maybe as long as they dont charge more then 125 a week for a van. And the tractor only rate is now 65% of 100%, or is it still 98% like it was a couple years ago? Thanks in advance...

Right now there are 98 van loads within 200 miles of Dallas posted. The percentage for a tractor is 65% as far as I know but, don't take my word for it, call and ask. You can rent open deck equ. but, I don't know if they lease/rent vans.

What is so hard about getting in with the agents, if you qualify with landstar doesn't that automatically qualify you with the agents until you actually let them down, or screw something up? What should be needed in the way of sales then?
