Re the fuel card. I don't have a fuel card. I just have a settlement card. All my loads are paid onto one card, comdata, and I cash flow of that card. You can however get advances for 100% of the FSC on each load plus 25% of the load revenue. I don't do this, the max I will take is just the FSC but only when I leave the house and have nothing on the card. After the first week out I don't get any advances, the previous weeks earnings cash flow the current week's expenses. The card is always open unless you get in trouble with corporate over something, then they will turn it off until whatever issue has been resolved.

Actually, that's not quite right. If there's a problem, they'll block your ability to get an advance until you talk to them, but the money already on your card is accessible. The money already on your card is yours. Even when they block advances, it's just to get your attention. A quick phone call gets it released. After a month or so, you should have a couple thousand on your card, unless you spend too much. If they do freeze your advances, you can still get fuel and run the truck.Last edited: Dec 9, 2013
sleepy35 Thanks this. -
Quite correct...Landstar has no control over the card as that is issues by comdata and is in your name. Landstar can only control what can be loaded onto the the card. I guess only comdata can lock out the card.
