The difference between 65 percent at LS and 80 at other places is simple. 65 percent you are pulling a Landstar trailer with Landstar cargo insurance. They have skin in the game, somtimes more. I've seen 10k trucks pulling 35k trailers.

I have been at landstar for 3 years. They stuck with me when I had a real problematic Volvo 670. I will never go anywhere else. I have made 2000 net easily of the load board pulling there van at 65%. Another one hit poster and we don't here from them again. Landstar is probably one of the best companies to drive for in the country for o/o. There are good agents and bad agents. Landstar doesn't baby sit you. There not going to hold your hand or find you freight. That's on you. But if you need help they will help you out with repair loans and such. So many people who don't know how to run a business and don't want to put in the hard work complain about a company that straight up tells you that your success depends on you and you alone. It's a business, your the one not figuring out the right lanes to stay in. Not figuring out the good agents. Not booking a load or two ahead and not saving money for repairs. Sheesh maybe you should drive a company truck if you can't run a BUSINESS.

Lots of drivers don't want a house or an apartment. They live in their truck. Very low overhead when you remove rent and utilities and cable. So for many drivers it just doesn't make sense to pay for an apartment that you're barely in.

I think that living on the road is a choice that some drivers don't regret.

Why the thinking twice? MS has Jackson in the central, Memphis in the north, and New Orleans to mobile in the south... not to mention Hattiesburg, Natchez, Vicksburg. I'm with LS based out of LA

    I service MS quite regularly

    Dwardell662 Thanks this.
