Landstar is a good place as long as you STAY on your toes , and are SELF MOTIVATED.

Watch the loads and some of the agents , know where you want to go to be in the $ areas and your cost if you have to bite the bullet to relocate to better area for better $ loads.

Too many get on at LS and fall into the no RUSH mode , no dispatcher or DM pushing them , then sit waiting for the MEGA $ loads to poor freight locations.

Get your HAZMAT , and TWIX become an asset not a " Ah Gee I cant ( do not want to ) go there , agents learn this and you sit.

How so? If they dedicate to a lane I'm not going to post a load before giving them a shot at taking it.

Thanks just a few minor repairs left to be completed then we have to have a vin check done the title applied for and an annual inspection done at the ta. Do we need to pay the heavy usage tax before we get the plates from landstar if so it might take us a little longer than april 1st as I am still running as a company driver until we are ready to go and the miles are not the greatest. No truck payment to worry about but we are anxious to get out on our own.

Issue is many Landstar agents never post loads. They deal with drivers they know. Sure a dedicated lane makes sense but I am not talking about those loads. In order to make $ with LS you have to be able to land loads before they hit the board.
This was a point of disagreement between us on a different thread with you stating all non dedicated loads hit the board.

And they do. If you'd currently look for our agency code on the LS loadboard - you'd see 23 loads posted for Monday/Tuesday shipment. That's everything we've got.

Yes, you have to pay your 2290 tax BEFORE they will even finish processing your application. Hope you guys get on soon

Hence why I am using systems in place here to find ALL the loads, even the one's that are not posted on the boards. If it was booked thru Landstar, there is a way for me to see it, and I use it to my advantage.

Just get some brokers you like, and keep on truckin'

    FLATBED Thanks this.

You cannot get your baseplate unless you have a stamped receipt from the IRS that shows that your 2290 has been paid for the current year. A copy must be either carried or sent to the issuing state.

    SHC Thanks this.
