Well submitted my app ill know in a week.
WatsonDL1 Thanks this. -
One with FAXing ability will be useless in the truck as you don't have a landline to plug into it. Most people use email these days, but I do maintain a Myfax account for when I need to fax.
I have a Brother Laser all in one wireless routed through my wireless hotspot on my tablet. Works great, but needs a 1500 watt inverter minimum. I've had a printer/internet setup in the truck since 2003, and everything is far easier these days. -
MyFax rapidfax etc ALL come in your email. Only thing you need is internet connection and a printer scanner.

Let me explain it a little better.
With internet based faxing when some one wants to send you a fax they punch in your number the same as for any other fax machine.
The internet faxing company converts your incoming fax to a PDF that is emailed to the account you set up. You open the PDF and print it if you want/need to.
If you have to sign and send some thing back you simply sign it, scan it, attach it to an email and away it goes. If its going to another fax machine you simply put the fax number as 18003562711@rapidfax.com and send it.
No that is not my fax number, don't bother sending spam to that number.
I'll never see it.
I'm uncertain about all internet based fax companies but the one I use, rapidfax, offers a 800 number at no extra cost. This way your customers don't have to pay long distance charges to send you a fax.
Costs me $10 a month, only a couple times have I gone over the page limit and had to pay a couple bucks extra. I've had the same number for 6 to 7 years now.skoshi130 Thanks this. -
As far as I know, all internet fax services use the same process. So, your faxes will arrive in your email box and you send a fax just like any other email other except you will send your email/fax through your internet fax provider. Unless you want to pay $1-3/page to a truck stop to send or receive faxes, it has become a necessity. Besides, when you compare $10/month to the usually fees of $1-3/page at a truck stop, it is a no brainer. It is also much more convenient to have access from your truck.

I agree. I've been using Brother machines for several years now. They are inexpensive and the ink is also inexpensive. I can get 24 ink cartridges from Amazon for less than $20 for my Brother machine.
I just bought a new one for my truck this week at OfficeMax for $99 that has a sheet fed scanner. I just scanned 7 pages to Landstar in less than one minute. -
Brother has been theeee fastest scanner linked to Landstar's scan program that I've found. An Epson I had took 4 times as long easy, and the Canon only twice as long.
