Just wondering if many of you work with LandstarBroker.com and also, if so, do you have the Savings Plus card. Seems as if the two-day pay and discounts would make it worthwhile. I will be getting back into this in a month or so with big trucks after owning a couple of straight trucks the past couple of years and want to find a few select places to work with. Thought of just leasing on to Landstar (or similar) but going to take the plunge and reinstate my authority from nearly 20 years ago, so thought LandstarBroker.com might be a good site to get familiar with. Thanks...

Haven't had much luck with them in the Memphis, TN area. Werner has a great power only program, Fairchild is pretty reasonable (as long as you have a contact to get you in the door)

Landstar was my first company to haul for when I got my authority. The savings plus is the best way to get paid for the fee they charge. You can buy fuel with the card or generate a com chek for no fee with it. They're probably the worst company not to want to pay you a TONU if they screw up, but the agents are actualy contractors to so it's the agent who's screwing you. I have a few I wouldn't fool with CQU is the worst in my book along with ASH and BAT. Plus landstar double brokers a lot now. Better off hauling for smaller brokers and use ladnstar as a backup if no one else has a load.
They've gone downhill the past couple years used to be my favorite one to haul for in the day.osumike33 Thanks this. -
Their quickpay program and fuel card is a pretty good deal IMO once you get set up. I'd like to haul for them more often to keep money on my card for fuel but haven't been able to strike a deal on any landstar loads lately.

All quickpay programs charge you a fee, well, almost all. I like to have a mixture of standard pay and quickpay. If you can wait for your money, do so, if you need cash fast, use one you are set up for quickpay. Cash flow is important. The Savings Plus program also gives you other discounts on tires and other things. You can use your card at ATM's and you can get set up to transfer funds off your card into your banking account.
