Honestly....my first company told us.....who cuts us off the most....TRUCK DRIVERS.....our trucks went 62mph.....OF COURSE TRUCKS CUT US OFF FFS.....
Now....in a truck that will do 76....i very rarely get cut off by trucks.... MOSTLY CARS LIKE THE VIDEO ABOVE....then i honk the horn...and usually get the finger....its pathetic really.....hope it never happens...but the day i get cut off and i rearend a family of 4....ima shrug my shoulders..FireLotus Thanks this. -
When the speed limit is 70mph, and the flow of traffic is going at 74mph.. a truck governed at 63 mph can not pass another truck or car going 62 mph with out impeding and obstructing traffic on a two lane interstate...
I started and learned to drive a truck in an ungoverned truck with a Pittsburgh Power box, I was also taught not to impeded traffic when passing.. later I was in a governed truck.. and found it near impossible to pass another truck without impeded traffic unless there was little to no traffic.. so I just had to slow from 63mph to 61 mph and stay behind the truck...
If you have never driven an ungoverned truck then you don't know how dangerous a governed truck is... so why not a petition to ungovern trucks so that they can stay with the flow of traffic more... I would support that petition...
Also, as I clearly stated, pickup trucks, cars and motorcycles can out accelerate a big truck... if I get rear ended by a big truck when there is room in front of me.. it is not the trucks fault... I could of and should of accelerated.. or been able to maneuver out of the path... why not a petition to include defensive driving maneuvers or tactical driving maneuvers as a requirement to anyone getting any type of driving license.. there is no questions on the drivers license test about that.. why not.. there should be..
I strongly believe that all factors should be considered when determining who is at fault when an accident happens.. Could the driver that got rear ended have accelerated or maneuvered out of the path.. if so, then they too are at fault and should be ticketed..
Case in point.. three years ago I was out riding with a friend, we were stopped at a red light... my friend put his bike in neutral and grabbed his water bottle to take a drink as it was a hot day... I shook my head at him because he knows that annoys me. I was on my bike which was in gear, and ready to go when the light turned green and the car in front of me moved. As I always do I kept checking my mirrors and keeping alert to what was going on all around me.. when I noticed the car coming up to us a bit to fast... I honked my horn and revel my bike to get my friends attention who was on his bike looking off to his left.. when it became apparent that the car would not be able to stop before hitting us.. I took off o my right in the space between the cars in front of me and the curb.
The car ran into my friend sending him into and over the car in front of him. Fortunately although he was hurt, it was not as bad as it could of been.
Well, of course all the local motorcycle riders were angry at the car that rear ended my friend, saying they should be in jail and of course they put on various events and fundraisers... The crazy thing, was that all these outraged motorcycle riders calling for tougher laws on cagers, never faced the reality.. there were two motorcycles one stayed and got hit, one moved out of the way... whenever I said or mentioned his accountability in being rear ended they would get upset.. because they just always want to blame the cagers.. cars, trucks whatever....
I understand trucks are big, heavy and cumbersome.. if I have to be behind on at a stop light.. I know and accept that they can not accelerate fast.. so, I deal with it patiently... but, when they cut me off going 10mphs or more slower than me... that is uncalled for...Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
So how dangerous would most of these morons be in an ungoverned truck is my question. I see the point being made but what's the lesser of the two evils. If one cant keep it under control at 63, wtf would he do with the capability of 80? I'm just thinking out loud

anyone who gets paid even a small amount of money to drive a truck must actually know how to drive a truck...
Over the years, many drivers have come up with numerous was to try improve the industry and to try and restore sanity back into the industry.. to stop or at the very least slow the influx of under trained, poorly trained unqualified and unprofessional drivers... but it just seems they really do not have anyone lobbying or speaking for them... the carriers most certainly do.. they have professional lobbiest to make sure they can continue handing the keys over to a new driver who has had inadequate training to move freight... -

I got my first street bike when I turned 16, a 1978 shovel head bobber...
I rode my bikes everywhere all year long, and didn't even buy my first car till I was 21 a 1964 ford falcon convertible it's 3 on the tree..
When I was 22 I enjoyed stock car racing and drifting, but still favored my bikes over a car.
So with 40 plus years of riding... never dumped one and no accidents, other then in motorcross and dirt biking, but that was just part off it...
I have accelerated and maneuvered out of or away from potential mishaps... cars turning or merging in front of me, a group of riders crashing on a poker run, deer, raccoons, things falling out of or off of trucks...
I read somewhere, I think it was Jerry " the motorman" Palladio.. the Ride Like a Pro guy... that 99% of motorcycle accidents could of been avoided by the rider..
Because again, a motorcycle can accelerate and maneuver out of harms way, I don't need as large an escape path as a car or certainly a big truck..
I understand what and why you all are horrified at what I did... I don't see it as road rage.. road annoyance perhaps.. at the truck drive who waited for us to come up on him, then no turn signal just decides to move over in front of us going 10 to 15 mph slower... We had to hard brake not to run into him or maneuver around him... would of been a lot harder for a big truck or even a mid size car... and I am certain that guy has done that to trucks and cars..
I know there were plenty of times when I was driving I would be passed by heavily loaded flatbed obviously ungoverned, then see the truck in front of decide after miles of following the truck in front of it that it was time to pass it even though they were in a governed truck themselves... they were just being jerks... didn't like that they were in a governed freightliner or Volvo and so cut of the Long Nosed Pete with all it cool lights and stacks..
So, still don't feel bad for schooling the guy and hopefully it scared him enough to not do that crap...
