When I was 22 I enjoyed stock car racing and drifting, but still favored my bikes over a car.

So with 40 plus years of riding... never dumped one and no accidents, other then in motorcross and dirt biking, but that was just part off it...

I have accelerated and maneuvered out of or away from potential mishaps... cars turning or merging in front of me, a group of riders crashing on a poker run, deer, raccoons, things falling out of or off of trucks...

I read somewhere, I think it was Jerry " the motorman" Palladio.. the Ride Like a Pro guy... that 99% of motorcycle accidents could of been avoided by the rider..
Because again, a motorcycle can accelerate and maneuver out of harms way, I don't need as large an escape path as a car or certainly a big truck..

I understand what and why you all are horrified at what I did... I don't see it as road rage.. road annoyance perhaps.. at the truck drive who waited for us to come up on him, then no turn signal just decides to move over in front of us going 10 to 15 mph slower... We had to hard brake not to run into him or maneuver around him... would of been a lot harder for a big truck or even a mid size car... and I am certain that guy has done that to trucks and cars..

I know there were plenty of times when I was driving I would be passed by heavily loaded flatbed obviously ungoverned, then see the truck in front of decide after miles of following the truck in front of it that it was time to pass it even though they were in a governed truck themselves... they were just being jerks... didn't like that they were in a governed freightliner or Volvo and so cut of the Long Nosed Pete with all it cool lights and stacks..

So, still don't feel bad for schooling the guy and hopefully it scared him enough to not do that crap...
