My XP crashed and now have Windows 7. My AT&T aircard was not compatible with Win 7. Let a friend talk me into going with Sprint. Having major trouble staying connected on the move. When I lose signal it will not reaquire and allow it to reconnect. Only way to reconnect is remove/reinstall aircard or reboot computer. Never had this issue with AT&T! I have the Sprint U-301 3G/4G. Anybody else??? If so how did you resolve this problem??? Fixing to go back to AT&T any suggestions on which card with AT&T to use with Win 7 ???

I agree with you about the Sprint air card, it's connectivity, AND their "tech" support.
I usually got passed off to someone in another country, whom I could not understand, nor could they understand me.
I solved the problem by going to Verizon.
Mind you, I'm not advocating or endorsing, but I haven't had a problem since switching.
But, I've also never used AT&T, so I dunno how different they might be from Verizon.
What I DO know, is this ...SPRINT SERVICE SUX!!!

I have Verizon I haven't had any problems and I love it

Check to see if you have the MOST current Software/Firmware version....the cd in the box is often old, and out of date......
One bit of info....Verizon does use some Lower Frequency's...the use both 800-900, and 1600 MHZ bands (the lower frequency's are great for penetrating deeper into buildings, etc),....so depending on where you drive, you might want to try a slightly different location for the laptop to give the antenna a better View. IF it is a USB dongle, try using an extension USB cable, and tossing it up on the dash, or Velcroing it to a window or something!!
That having been said....you might have been able to use the AT&T card with an update.....IF you have Win7 64 they might not have been available if the card was "end of life".
However most Vista Drivers, 64 or 32 bit will work with 7 fine...if you look at the version #'s of the operating system, you will see that 7 is technically just a +.5 version update if Vista...a face-lift if you will...(kinda like a Major Service Pack), that fixed many issues.simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
Verizon has the most coverage

Go with Verizon mifi. Best coverage, fast and no issues.

Had Sprint, their newest 3g/4g air card. It sucked! I had terrible coverage no matter where I went. I sent it back within the 30 day trial period.I decided to go with Verizon, and I love it. I will tell you that alot of air cards will not work with Windows 7, 64 bit, at least not on a Toshiba laptop. I have the Verizon MiFi2200 but have to use it through my husbands Vista laptop. My Toshiba will not download and install their VZAccess Manager. So, I loaded it onto his and use the MiFi2200 on mine, through his. Verizon has been great since I got it almost 2 weeks ago. I have been able to connect every where we have been and I am getting pretty good connections. It has been staying close to 1.5 Mgb and even going over several times. Good luck!

Important to clarify here I think - once you get the Mifi activated, you can use any device that can connect to a Wifi network with it - you only have to install the VZW manager thingy to activate it the first time. It's not really an aircard, think of it more as a wireless router with built-in cellular modem.
And I think you're looking for "Mbit" or "Mb."
One option to keep in mind (not sure which carriers have what plans these days) is to purchase the device yourself (ebay or whatever) and then you can pay month-to-month for service, instead of locking yourself into a 2-year contract. Since the only draw to signing a contract is the free/discounted devices, it might not be worth it if you're not positive that you're going to want to shell out $1440 over the next two years.

I agree with what you said about the MiFi because that is what I said. I was trying to make a point that alot of new air cards, including the MiFi2200, will not work on my Toshiba 64bit Windows 7. (VZAccess Manager will not download and install)
As for the Mb instead of Mbp......I stand corrected although I believe most people here know what I meant.
I chose to purchase the MiFi2200 through Verizon because that gives me 30 days to make up my mind. And as I said, so far, I am totally pleased.
