Stupid question, but do all trucks have the inverters now for standard power, or is this something that has to be obtained personally? sorry if off topic, but wanna run my laptop, without getting a 12v adapter.

No, not all trucks have inverters, most Owner/Operator spec'ed trucks do have 120 volt power in some manner. You can get an inverter that will run a laptop, that plugs in to a lighter socket. About 100 watts will take care of most, some will require something a bit bigger for recharging and running the computer at the same time.

    NukedNative Thanks this.

Yes, I was told that too. LIE! I have been a happy Verizon customer for 13 years, so when I got my aircard a few months ago I went with Verizon too. I have been happy, up until yesterday. I am now sitting here, in California no less, with no service. Phone has service, but no internet. Got to the bottom of it with the customer service today. Aparently the line that I was fed, "as long as you have a cell signal you will be able to connect to the internet" was a complete lie. Nope, when you are in an extended network area, you don't get service. So it is a double whammy, no internet service on my cell phone and no internet service with my aircard. I should have gone with Sprint so that hopefully I could have gotten service with one or the other.

In Verizon's defense. I have been on the phone with their tech support for the last week. They have lost a lot of towers here in Cali due to fires and earthquakes. I guess the signals have to be rerouted and their entire system is bogged down right now in cali. I have getting dial up speeds the past week. They have fixed it in my area and I am sure they will have the rest of the state back to normal in the near future.

Good luck with that. Something happened in my area around the first of the year and my house became a dead zone. I was assured that they would look into it. Good thing that I moved, because it never (as of last week) was fixed. I am happy with Verizon overall, and very happy with their coverage area. What I am unhappy about is that I was mislead about their internet service. I was told that anywhere that the phone would work, the aircard would work and that was a flat-out lie. They have a great product, there is no need to lie about it to make a sale.

Right now I would not go with Verizon because it is not unlimited anymore. Lennamarie, I would get a different card if I were you. I have always been able to get internet where I have a cell signal. I have taken it all over 49 states and never had a problem, until recently and it was fixed last night.
