Well, after getting delayed over and over with another company for training, I called Prime YESTERDAY (Wednesday) and Cyndy got me verified and into Orientation for next week! I just got a physical today and went and picked up my learning permit, so I won't have to deal with that down there. Only thing I'm worried about is my blood pressure! I'm stressed out with this happening so fast and my BP can rise a lot when I'm anxious. Going to wake up early on Tuesday and go for a run, I think it'll calm me down. LoL

It looks like it has to stay under 140 or I get sent home? That would totally suck, but I guess we'll see.

Anyone else going to Springfield next week?

    mje Thanks this.

You should be fine. Get down to Springfield the day before orientation so that you get a good nights sleep. Drink plenty of water, stay away from salt, caffeine and don't smoke before the physical.

Exactly! Watch anything to eat or Drink before the Physical, Do you take Meds for the BP? If you do Take it an hour or so before the Exam! Then it will be in full swing to get the BP taken! Good Luck! Thanks.

Thanks for the tips. I don't take meds, my BP has been hanging out anywhere from 120 - 140 the last few doctors visits so I'm not into hypertension yet... I just have some anxiety sometimes, and trying to pack and get all my ducks in a row in 48 hours has been a major stress fest. I am going to get down there on Sunday, and orientation doesn't start until Tuesday morning so hopefully I'll be nice and calm by then. I will certainly watch what I'm eating though too, thanks for that. :)

Lots of water... if you're thirsty, you're dehydrated.
Lay off the salt. There's more than enuf already in real food.
Fries, wings, tater chips, soda...are tasty but very high in salt and way low in nutritional value.
If it's in a can, bottle or bag, read the label.
    Good luck!

If you are that concerned about your blood pressure, you may want to find a health food store, such as Vitamin World and buy some Hawthorn Berry. It will lower your blood pressure in a few days and without the side effects of the medication dispensed by pharmacies.

Well didn't get sent home yet I guess that's good. lol The simulator was a ton of fun.. hope I make it to a truck. Not much else to say yet - lots of paperwork and talking to nurses and doctors so far. My interview was nothing he didn't even ask any work history questions.. it looked like my recruiter already had a hirerite report done on me and saved in the computer so I'm guessing that was all good since I'm still here.

I switched to flatbed after thinking about it some more. A) I have a better shot of getting a condo I hear.. and B) I've been wanting to get more exercise lol.

We still have quite a few people left.. a handful went home after the physicals and background stuff But Not as many as I was expecting based on What I've read. Maybe they're gonna have a mass sending-home right before assigning instructors?
