I know there was an outage a week or so ago. I was in Detroit when it went down for about an hour or two. Not sure if that was an update.

Some people rely heavily on Qualcomm navigation. Yes I do know where I'm going and yes I do have an atlas I now rarely use because if you scroll up and actually read what I said IM A LOCAL DRIVER. My point was an update at 4:30 EST was a BAD TIME TO SHUT IT DOWN FOR 15-20 minutes.

The update had no effect on me except that I hate to look over at it and see the exclamation point lit up on the screen. I only rely on the thing for messages, rarely anything else.

I think it's ok to gripe about it here, but nothing posted here, about this, will change how they update in the future. If it upsets you so much, express your displeasure directly to Phoenix headquarters. That seems like the positive thing to do IMHO.

Regardless of whether you can find your way out of a paper bag without a GPS (or not) upgrading a major operating system in the middle of the business day was a piss poor time to do it.

    I agree.

I use maps, and I use directions to where I'm going.
But I usually check everything before I start out. If my GPS has the correct route I go with it.
I don't always write down a separate set of instructions.

Then again, I also don't use the QC GPS, so I don't have a problem if it updates at a critical time.

It was timed to coincide with the night shift driver manager crew to handle the flood of phone calls from drivers needing to send loaded or empty calls. I spent 45 minutes on hold during that time. It's not just GPS, it's the main communication for the company.

    Bad timing.

I thought i was the only one. I was freaking out like wtf is going on. I probably didnt see the do you want to update as it was a black screen. I could run the route i was on sleeping. It shouldn't be an option when you are driving it should not update. What if you were new or didnt know where you where going. Sounds about the same time mine did it i want to say later cause it was good and dark when it happened thats the only reason i knew i5 happened.
