I’ve done that! I have even stalled it once or twice.Chinatown Thanks this.

Go automatic, all you have to remember is either
1. Twist and stomp,
2. Put in D and stomp.
3. Push D and stomp.MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
Right, and 5 seconds later the truck might actually decide to start moving.

Smart man. Make sure you test on it too.BlueThunderr Thanks this.

All companies expect a truck driver to be able to drive their equipment. Why limit yourself? Go and learn all you can on a manual and to shift double clutching and then floating. You learn all you can before you shift over to autos.
MACK E-6 and BlueThunderr Thank this. -
They offer them and always will offer them . They aren’t going anywhere. It costs nothing for a manufacture to install at the factory. Eaton will always make them and manufacturers will always have them as an option. I’m an owner operator and I’m friends with several fleet owners that still purchase all Mack’s and Pete’s with manuals. They cost less and cheaper to maintain. Some would consider it a downfall when hiring. Others would disagree. The idiots that can’t drive manual and only automatic still can’t drive worth a #### and manage to break things. They stick to drivers that know the trade and don’t have a restriction on license

For the record these "autos" are manuals with auto shifters. The basic internal parts are the same!

I plan to drive manual for as long as possible. It's fun.
