I'm not trying to talk you out, or into it. I was just pointing out some of the more interesting aspects of the job. Nor do I believe that a lady could not do it. Of course they can.

G.Anthony Thanks this. -
A rotator is the top of the line tow truck. The boom part will rotate like a crane to pick off the side or to pick something up and set it over.
-
Rotators are big wreckers who think they are small cranes. lol
Good luck in your decison in what you do.
Did you work for a fleet owner west of Cleveland?
Vermillion I think it was. When my dad was sick I passed a place who had a lot of hotshot box trks. sitting. -
Nope, this place was South of Cleveland. I can imagine this place having politics with more than one owner, though. There were some organizational changes between 2013 and 2015 that some folks did not like. Lost bonuses and whatnot. Speaking of which... I never got my signing bonus and that was supposed to happen after I'd been with them a year. Grrr. -
Sounds like you made the right decision when you moved on
Big Don Thanks this. -
go for it cj. obviously you'll be operating the smaller wreckers but so what? i assure you that you'll enjoy every challenge presented when hooking up to the wrecked 4 wheelers and 6 wheelers and all,and each will be a challenge.you'll be home every night unless on a call, you'll get to know the cops and emt's,and you will make more money than you were making running teams in the expeditor. i have often thought about getting back into it,i drove one for a short while back when i was a teen, and recall the never knowing what it was that you had been sent to clear wreck wise until arriving. keeps you sharp-

Don't know about any of yall experience.....BUT if you get qualified&can really do Heavy recovery...yes it hard..dirty..sometimes dangerous work....but it is EXTREMELY LUCRATIVE.....my older brother runs a rotator (among other things).....works for 32% of the truck&clears 6figures....and in all honesty...in terms of the truckin world he works Part-Time...But it isn't for everyone...and it does help to have a good deal of mechanical ability
wore out, brian991219 and Pinqui Thank this.
