How many bags of chains are you required to carry?

Only the amount necessary to cover the requirements.
And you better have them, bagged or not.

I'm sure you can read and comprehend, and that you have internet access.

Look up the states you will be going through as to the requirements, and read.

Something is inadequate in training. No one is teaching these drivers going into chain areas to chain. Granted coming from the Appalachians we did not carry or use chain, until we hit the Rockies.

Chains are good, getting stuck for a tow is bad. I am not surprised that there are too many people who would rather take a nap and wait for the storm to clear rather than get frosty, cold, wet and so on throwing chain. They cannot dare complain, they got themselves involved in this. Toss the chain. No whining.

Just chained this morning to get over Donner and still got to the customer early. Ya'll newbies that want to listen to everyone piss and moan about chaining...when it happens to you, you'll think it's the worst thing in the world. It's not really...just part of the job. Don't let other peoples opinion influence you that way. If you can't handle it, perhaps you should get an office job. Your desk will never need chaining.
