Check with a local community college or tech school, your state may offer tuition help or even pay for all of it, I went to a local technical college and the state of Georgia paid for everything but the DOT physical and drug screen. it saved me almost $3000!

Most of the guys in my class had to go OTR right out of school and are gone one to two weeks or more at a time but I was able to hold out till I got a local job and I am home every night.

Don't give up, if you want it bad enough and try hard enough you will get to be where you want to be.

Again thank you for the responses.

I just got hired at ups for a temp position as a driver helper over christmas, oh well, Its work.

I heard freom a driver that they will be hiring (after the new year) for sorter.

So Im hoping to get that job and maybe meet some of the semi drivers that come at 3 am from Spokane and maybe then get a driving job?

Long shot. But when you havent worked in four years, you take what you can get.

Thank god for for wives with jobs!
