That's true. Our company will allow you too, I could even take this truck and lease it, decide to go back to company, and they'll just turn it back into a company truck. I know what you mean though, there are a lot of companies like that. They wanna keep you lease or not hired at all
I came on here with a statement of fact. I'm doing well - and much better than I did on the company side. PERIOD. After someone posted that you can't do that. BTW... the "great money" comment was made by some other poster well over 3 years ago. 10%? That really doesn't surprise me. Most folks aren't prepared to do what they have to in order to be successful. My company has one of the lowest? Would you care to share your source for that?
i read on another forum those with their own authority cryin about 1.30 freight. My truck is financed through stark leasing out of indianapolis and I got the truck thru Ruble truck sales. It is a used Ryder with some extras on it.I am paying the same amount monthly that I would of through my credit union. The difference is I didnt have to pay the 20% down.Risinger does have some used penskes that they do lease to drivers.I have met a couple who have paid their trucks off and are sucessful.trucking is a business but I knew when I sold my first truck for the local job and then went back on the road that I couldnt be a company driver.when I heard the recruiter tell me I could go home for 2 days after 2 weeks and all the other stuff I made the decision to buy another truck
I've been in contact with a few folks who lease. All of them are only making .40-.55 CPM. When one considers that starting pay with Prime is .41 cpm, I don't think the risk is worth it for a few cents more.
