I'm not prior service, would I still be able to bid on the military loads?

I am really leaning toward the 780. I like the idea of the work center in it. Especially if I am going to have kids/fiance riding with on occasion.

Oh my, not sure I can do that - she'd drain the maintenance reserves thinking that cash was for HER maintenance :biggrin_25526::biggrin_2559:

Not a bad motor but remember a head job is pretty spendy on those motors. I picked up a 03 9200I with a c12 with 568k 10 speed for 21k. I would try to find a 500-600k mile truck to start with.

    thought about that too.

But then the truck payment goes up about $500 per month

Those are $40-60K trucks then. That also would put me in that 2007-2009 EGR Emission years and I DON'T want that headache.

I would take a 04-06 truck for now, run that for 2-3 years, then take a 2010 or new model and skip those 07-09 model trucks.

Keep in mind that pre-EGR will eliminate any CA port trips now, and supposedly ANY CA trips next year.

Yeah thats why I couldnt pass this truck up it was a great deal. it has the pre emissions cat so it should have a lot less problems. But the bad thing is I dont believe this motor lasts over 800k miles without a overhaul.

    Yop.....

I dislike the left coast enough right now, not too concerned about that.

Just trying to establish things. And if things work out, there will be a nice bonus at the end of the year that will have to be utilized.

My fiance tells me a story of how her grampa (who also was an O/O) went to go buy a new truck seat for $64,000. It just so happened to be attached to a new Peterbilt.

I can deal without going to CA for a couple years if it means not dealing with the EGR headaches from the early emission year equipment.

    Which is a better trade?

I can stay regional for now too.
