Your numbers are a bit odd! 3500 miles with $1.05 + FSC this week is $.43 = $1.48 PM = $5180 Total 8 MPG Which with a properly running truck and a well aligned Trailer, this is very doable, minus $1950 = $3230 minus truck payment $500.00 = $2730 Pay Escrow $350.00 after it is done you make $.68 CPM! I don't know of any Company drivers who make this! my vote is for a Lease/Purchase on this type of deal! Just my 2 cents worth, Not trying to argue, but figure your CPM's like it should be! :yes2557:

Sammons is a lease program, maverick offers a lease to help guys become mav ic, and from talking to jct drivers they all sound happy. Where do you get your information? You should at lease make your sure right about the things you say.

Not to mention 3500/8=437 gallons x 3.9 = $1706 ... don't where he came up with the $1950 ... no wonder you can't make a profit for less than $1.75 ... besides who pays $3.90 for fuel ... my average for the year is a $3.62 and I'm not even on a fuel discount.

Well I have tried a lease purchase 3 times I am pretty business minded but at the end of the day tou have to know TRUCKING. And in Trucking the companies are greedy I did the crst malone thing for a bit they said I could use outside brokers and so i got them with an outside broker. here is what happened. I was at a place going to pick up a ld was on the phone with a crst AGENT discussing the rate before I made a decision on the load saw a friend of mine a REAL o/op who told me he was getting 1.00 more a mile for the same exact load I was gonna take I asked my crst Agent what the Most they would pay for the load she said 1.26 So I told them I didnt want it. I called my friends broker booked the load for 2.26 and had him put 1.00 a mile on my fuel surcharge see crst pays 75% of linehaul but 100% of f/s. Then crst got to where their safty record was so bad no outside broker would load them. and as far as prime goes, do the math on how much money you paid to lease that truck...just the truck payment and tell me it was a good deal and you did good...you paid a lot of money for a truck you never owned and in the end you just start over.

I can't comment on Maverick or Sammons, But the only part I'll agree with on JCT, is the truck aren't O/O spec trucks, but the lease deal is fair, and you can make around $1200-$1400 a week after expenses with JCT, not to bad if you ask me

Didn't realize people were still posting in this old thread of mine LOL.

I think I've finally given up on the dream of buying a truck. Can't find a lease purchase program that even gives a driver a real chance at success, and even though I know there has to be at least one out there somewhere, asking about it on the forums here is equivalent to going into a crowded church and claiming God doesn't exist.

It's a hard truth I've learned... Most lease purchases are designed to fail, no one talks about the good ones that may be out there, and being a company driver even at top pay levels doesn't leave enough to save to buy a truck outright. At least it doesn't for me anyways. And I don't see myself making any more than the .42 per mile than I do now with any other company.

Looking on the bright side, $700 a week take home isn't terrible. I could be unemployed and a lot worse off.
