Was also a consideration of mine, a good friend of mine is doing a lease through Prime. My main issue? The truck payment is insane. $970 a week is what he pays for the payment alone. He's taking home about what I do as a company driver, and that's before he pays any taxes. I refuse to pay that much on ANY truck...

Very true. I wonder how many L/P guys out there would've made it successfully if they had gotten an accounting service or something and paid their taxes properly. Definitely food for thought.

At an operating cost of .85 per mile a LP driver at jct would be taking .58 per mile to the house plus the value of paying off his rig, putting himself into a position for further profits down the road. Not a bad deal. After all business expenses including my taxes I manage to deposit an average of .51 cpm personally.

I don't know your experience level but I started at $.42 cpm at Melton. But miles and rate of pay go hand in hand.

JCT Covers a lot of the expenses that an O/O has to shell out for, before they pay the $.90 CPM plus FULL FSC! So you may want to figure your figures a little differently when figuring JCT compared to a full blown O/O The pay the plates and some other stuff as well. JCT is the best I have seen and their mileage rate rather then a crazy weekly payment! Sure Crazy Payment if you run crazy miles It is only fair! I wish you guys luck.
