Well JCT definitely just went up by many points. A drop yard in FW and at least getting through both locations that I'd like to see is a huge plus. Plus, I really like their lineup of trucks.

Would you be able to tell me what your primary running areas are, or where you tend to spend the most time? I'm not really picky about where I run really, spent plenty of time in the NE and it doesn't bother me, although I have virtually no experience with NYC except riding with my trainer while delivering there once. I wasn't allowed to drive in NYC being as new as I was :)

Any other info would definitely be helpful!

mmmm...... lets see...... NONE!!!!!!... I can't tell you how many times I've heard stories and some of them firsthand of and from folks that have less than $100 at the end of the week after everything is "taken out" of their settlement... If you are serious about buying a job... save your money and then pick up a deal from a disillusioned former wanna-be O/O that will PAY you to take the truck off their hands!...

What about the hundreds of thousands of drivers who are lease purchasing and are successful? Of course there are no guarantees, but those who fail most likely either couldn't do it, or weren't willing to make the sacrifices and do the extra work required in order to make it work.

I know for a fact that it can be done successfully. That's all I need to know to at least take a shot at it.

most people that comment never done a lease and base their info off guys that don't tell the truth bout why they failed. number two their are good and bad bout leasing as is with owning one out right. its up to you how you run your business and the company you run for has the freight for you. drivers out here are very successful at leases. just choose the one that you think fits your needs, have a plan, stay away from these negative failure types I never tried but have a comment use to be owner op drivers that couldn't hack it and are now company drivers and you will be fine.

Hey another fellow maverick who's thinking about getting his own truck too. I'm in a similar situation as you. No kids and only a storage/phone bill but I am married and bring my wife with me 24/7. Also live in Fort Worth. We've been talking about doing a lease program with Maverick but I haven't heard really great things from a few IC's here. Thanks for starting the thread, bud. It's given me a bunch of info too.

I know a couple ICs that make very good money with Maverick. Like was said above, I think a lot of what you get out of it depends on what you put into it.

And if Maverick offered IC for temp control, I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. I'm paid more here as a company driver than I would be paid at any other company for my experience level, by far. But I've always dreamed of owning my own business, and I intend to give that a shot, even if there's a lot of risk involved. Nothing worth having in live comes free or easy.

I'm gonna send you a PM with my number if you'd like to chat and trade info on what we've learned so far about various lease programs.

Oh boy yet another flease hopeful ready to jump into shark infested waters. Sounds like your mind is made up. So all I ask is please keep updating this thread on how your new business venture is going. Just keep in mind only 15% of fleasees make it 85% don't.
