First of all, congratulations on your journey so far and you've already learned a lot more than you are probably aware of.
It seems you need to take some time in analyzing how to organize the potential expenses of a single truck business.
Most freight is measured in cents per mile so it's a good idea to measure the cost of your equipment in cents per mile as well.
With enough help from Dr. Google you can build a spreadsheet to help you start arriving at a somewhat accurate forecast of your operating expenses.
Armed with this information, you can see what different options for acquiring equipment are least expensive on a cost per mile basis.
Keep in mind there are many dependent variable relationships in these expenses aka tradeoffs such as higher cost of equipment due to warranty but lower cost of projected maintenance.
Excel is a great product to build your template to easily input numbers for different options and scenarios.
Best of luck!

Here's some math... February began 32.5 weeks ago. So $217420 / 32 = $6794.38 average, add 30% to that, and that's closer to $9500/week average, not $10k.
And that's only if you are being truthful about not working in January, which would change the weekly gross to $5876.
NOW: With that said, let's see the other side. How many miles did you operate during that time? How much fuel did you consume during that time. What was your payments for the truck, insurance, rentals, etc during that time? How many miles did you average each week? Ho much did you set back for a maintenance fund during this time? -
Anybody can say anything on the internet, that doesn't mean it's true.
The freight market has completely collapsed, no way you're earning that much, especially being home every weekend -
Are you affiliated with Cass?

i have no reason to lie- I don’t know you, and I’m not selling anything. Started my lease Jan 27th 2022.
My lease payment, equipment rental, and insurances come out to $830 a week. I pay my own fuel and maintenance.thelinedriver Thanks this. -
you're right- I care enough about what you think to go photoshop my settlement and post it here.
Jealousy isn’t a good look ✌ -
I've seen it all on here.
By the way I see you do west regional with a flatbed which is the cheapest flatbed region out there. Makes that $10k even more unbelievable lol.

Nice work Sherlock! You could have asked… I’d have told you where I was. Basically all you did was disprove your claim that there “is no way” I do this and am home every weekend.
Enjoy your .55 cpm
I’ll keep doing “the impossible” -
Nice job typing up those numbers just now.
I can post stuff, which actually anybody can look up.
This is off of systems transport own website.
"Top earners make UP TO $4,200 per week"
This is an OTR job posting so those numbers likely reflect those drivers who stay out and have their own trailer at 80%
You say you're truck does $10,000, someone which their own trailer at system transport would get $8,000 at their pay percentage.
What you say you earn amd what your company website says top earners make are not even close.
Are you starting to see how ridiculous you're claim is now?
Your own company website proves it.Last edited: Sep 16, 2022
