I understand that. Fixed costs could be around $1300, that's what Travis in recruiting told me.

There's around $140 per week in permits, plates, and etc. Your insurance is part of the truck payment. APU is on top of that as is health insurance. You will have to buy some sort of health insurance in the coming year.

Yeah sounds about right. my 2011 is costing me 877 but she is about to be retired. hopefully the gas savings i make will help with the added costs. My pete gets about 6.8 and with the newer tucks should get 7.5 or greater. This is based on me driving in the mountian states vrs the flat lands.

That all goes under "variable costs" but yeah, and 1.5 cpm for tires- it's more like 2.5-cpm cost these days.

I'll bet most guys can squeeze another mile per gallon out of their trucks by working on their driving technique. My OLD '09 Cascadia has been turning out 7.8, and since getting a scan gage I'm spending more time above 8. Someone mentioned we run 60-ish in another thread. Why? If you don't need the speed to make an appointment, slow down. I spend most of my time in the 52 to 54-mph range when the schedule allows it.

Everyone should get their trucks in the shop to get the overhead set, and have the air-to-air leak tested. On a new truck by 100,000 miles, and if you're getting crummy fuel mileage- TODAY! It's cheap, and will pay you back in a week or two in improved performance.

Towards the beginning of this thread, I posted some info on how I go about buying fuel. Between good mileage and telling macro 27 to shove it, my fuel cost is around 6-cpm. There is some guy on my board that is running at 32-cpm. WHOA! You got to be friggin' kiddin' me!! To think... this guy could get himself something approaching an instant 26-cpm raise just by working on that one thing.

I know you are insanely impressed with my speed, while showing my sadistic lane changing abilities. Fuel mileage?? Global Warming?? I live in the Great State of Denial........

Does prime cut the balls out of the lease trucks? Also wondering about the new cascadias, do they order them with amt or just regular manual transmission.

Prime trucks are 10 SPD manuals. There mostly SPD and rpm limited.

    Wanderingaimlessly Thanks this.

Mostly? Everything has a maximum speed set in- always has. All of the trucks have the maximum available turbo boost limited. I know everyone wants an "unneutered" truck, but the fuel consumption by such a vehicle in this system would bankrupt most folks within a couple of weeks. No limit on RPM... you can still tear an engine apart.
