Why would a fleet manager not accept you depending on the brand of the truck you're driving?

Because both the MX and ISX engines are highly unreliable.

I've been reading a lot of Prime lease threads, seems people either do really good $1500 + net a week or really bad.. as in terrible and going in the hole.
    But why?

If people are given the same tools, pay % etc why some soo good and other soo bad?
Is it simply work ethic or is there more to it? I'm talking about big differences here.. going 57 MPH vs 62 MPH won't cause a difference that vast.

    Will Prime work with you...
Say if you wanna wanna run short high paying loads in the northeast... like specific type of operation?
or is it all just totally random?

The guys who do poorly don't read their settlements, have no clue what their numbers are, have no cash reserves, and certainly don't run their truck as a business. That's a common thread. Many low-time drivers can't operate their trucks efficiently, and the fuel numbers show it... what would a 20-CPM raise do for you?

I was chatting with my FM one time, and he mentioned some trouble he was having with one of the guys, and his inability to get his fuel costs under control. IIRC, he was at 34-CPM... the overall average for all lease fleets is 12.5-CPM.

    I'm doing some badger math......

    $3.30 a gallon / 10 mpgs = .33 cpm.....

How can they come up with 12.5....?

Fuel surcharge payments. Its a little artificial, but its the metric they use to compare it fleet-wide.

(fuel cost - all reimbursements)/dispatched miles
