Is there a list of the buying cycles for the different brands? I'm in TNT right now and will be looking to lease in April or May. Will that be Freightliner only, or will KW, Pete's or International's be available then? What model lightweights are available from Prime? I was told only Freightliner anymore... Thanks!

    Hi IP,
What is the Advanced Fleet and how do they differ from what you are doing now? When you get your MC number will you still pull for Prime or?

    Thanks

Advanced Fleet is O/O only, not L/O.

Pete's and Freightliners are the primary lease trucks... they usually bring KWs in only when they can't get enough of the other two brands. You're much better off with a Cascadia

However, its hard to make a lease work. Its really hard to make it work with no experience. I always recommend that folks spend some time on the company side first.

The Advanced Fleet is made up of owner-ops only with their own authority. I'm still working on whether I'll continue pulling for Prime, for how long, or whether I'll strike out on my own.

I get that. I'm tanker, and home time will be few and far between if I go company based on my home town. There is a dedicated run out of Decatur, IN that I've been told maybe able to get home every couple weeks. Only catch is they require lease and lightweight trucks. Still weighing my options, but leaning that direction.

The cascadia are more fuel efficient and the seat on the kw are very small and uncomfortable, the steering wheel is not really telescopic, went u are turning u want more and is very heavy super heavy, but is better built than the
    Cascadia..
