Lots of relevant info here … it's been a good read

I had decided a couple of months ago to enter the trucking industry as a driver and
have conducted a mostly thorough search on how to do that the best way
for me. I have yet to speak with any recruiter so maybe my plans will not be possible.
But this is what I plan:
Attend Prime company sponsored training in Sprimo.
Lease on as a L/O flatbed driver after completing training and going solo.
No instructor or team operation.
After completing lease go O/O.
I have a couple of question regarding Prime/flatbed/lease.
1) Will I be able to go flatbed without any prior trucking experience right out of training ?
2) How difficult is it to control the truck that it is leased to me ?
( i.e. can I have it inspected by a third party, that sort of thing )
3) Are leases/purchases available that can be payed off early ?
( I have read / heard horror stories like they (trucking companies with
Non CDL student training programs won't let you take the lease home to read,
I am assuming that these are just that ; stories )
4) I currently reside in Orlando, Fl. Does Prime hire from this area ?
5) I would like to relocate to somewhere more conducive to trucking
and Prime's main lanes. If being in central Florida is a problem, will
they consider that ? (Any suggestion on the best location greatly appreciated.
6) Is it correct that almost all flatbed tractors are not of the lightweight variety ?
7) Is it correct that Prime forgives half the cost of your tuition/training if you stay
with them 6 months and the remaining half if you stay 1 year ?
I have a few more questions but will start with these. Thanks in advance for any
help you can give. I realize some of these have been asked and answered before
(and I have seen a couple of these) but asking again will help reassure me that I
have the correct information on an important decision.
I really would like to go with Prime but their lightweight tractor would be a deal
breaker for me. Also, flatbed has many advantages from my perspective and any
advise on how to make that happen quickly with Prime would also be appreciated. -
The problem with Little Guy ( and all those youtubers offering advise ) is the cram 20 seconds
worth of useful information into a 10 minute video. -
I don't believe Flats get a LW, only a full size due to the equipment you have to haul.
Need to talk to a recruiter about most of the other stuffNoBigHurry and FullMetalJacket Thank this.
