I spoke with both ryder and penske and they're similar setups. A used truck is $2100-2200 monthly plus 10cpm maintenance and new will be $2500-2600 plus 7cpm. 3 months down payment with ryder and 10K deposit with Penske. Im really interested in leasing a new Cascadia Evolution for the added fuel mileage savings and obviously the no maintenance. Both said I can spec like I want. The driver I am replacing his truck for runs average 10K miles monthly. I will still make money after truck payment, driver, fuel, ins etc but not much. The truck and maintenance being took care of is a big part of the equation, but my question is will it be worth it? Also, is anybody getting a better quote than these? I would greatly appreciate some insight, thanks in advance.

Does this include breakdown replacement? With the long repair times some of these new trucks run into that could be very valuable

I think you can get a good price on this Penske Volvo, one careful lady owner, low miles.......

I rented up to six trucks at a time. Initially I was renting from IdeaLease (International), then I went to PacLease (Kenworth). For me it was worth it because all-in my cost was about 10-12% of monthly revenue. That's all I cared about, how much cash-flow was required... and that amount was acceptable to me.
I could have done it "cheaper" by buying trucks, but that would have required some kind of down payment and then a monthly payment for a period of time I was not willing to commit to. Plus I would have "owned" the warranty problems (there were many) and the wear-and-tear and depreciation. It also would have made it more difficult to expand and contract my business based on demand.oldtrucker66, Big Herb The Trucker and bigred81 Thank this. -

All depends on the tractor but most are in the $2,000 month range and $.08-.10/mile for maintenance depending on the program you choose, or at least that was the cost in April

Sounded very reasonable to me as someone who usually breaks two things for every one I try to fix. You have the ease of one number to call for problems, maintenance etc and it is all paid for.
Paccar Lease even offers IFTA tracking and other accounting services.
There is a YouTube series on full service leasing.Big Herb The Trucker Thanks this. -
I hate to break it to you. You are not going to get a new Penske truck with a full maintenance lease for $2,000 a month and .08 to .10 a mile.
If you can, post the contract on here showing that rate and I will eat my shorts -
I don't carry it around with me but here is the link to the YouTube video series. I know you won't believe him either, but what the hell.
Last winter International was leasing Prostars with Cummins power for under $2k month and for a while Western Star had a great deal in a 5700 as well.
ovosquad and Big Herb The Trucker Thank this.
