I’ve ran into more than a few that claim to be paying 10% for “using” another Authority. They Own and Pay for everything. Charged back for all costs. I think that’s the easiest way. Keep it as simple as possible. Whether it’s 10 or 15%. I like 10. Simple. I’d go for something like that myself in lieu of running my Own, seems worth it. 15 might be better. I don’t think I’d do it for less than 15%. Maybe they’ll be more concerned about staying compliant and out of trouble. It can be lucrative with enough Trucks. I’d have to be ready an willing to shut it down before getting fined for violations during an audit. Safety seems to be the biggest issue. The rest is just paperwork. I worked one year for a Company that had 100 O/Os and only 3 Company Trucks. 2 Company Drivers to cover customers needs. They made it work. They weren’t any smarter than you or me. They paid mileage. Didn’t own many trailers, maybe 25-30 at most. Had secondary type in-house accounts with a couple department stores, and did short stuff for the two Big Box home improvement stores. Pulling their trailers to stores, double dropping in same door. Stores took a trailer almost every day.
