Howdy,
I just bought my first tractor. I’ve met with a fellow to lease on with and feel good about how things are shaping up. I guess my first question is:
Should I use his EFS card or get my own?
He said either way is fine, but I wasn’t sure if actually getting my own might be better for establishing business credit or tracking for IFTA.
I have been lurking off and on for years and appreciate any feedback.
Leasing on. Newbie question

You can use the Mudflap app with your debit card and get pretty good discounts depending on where you run.

If you're running your own plates/IFTA than use whatever suits you best. Personally, nothing is beating Mudflap for me right now. I absolutely love that it's literally no strings attached.

Here's what you need to consider as well.
The IFTA deductions / allowances may be tied to his card. In other words, if you use your own card, he might not have visibility to your purchases.
So, just ask.
At Schneider, they simply asked that you fax your fuel receipts if you were going off their card.
So, like I said, just ask your carrier.
Good luck.Zero Fox Thanks this. -
