It no longer makes a difference whether you receive a ticket in your personal vehicle or a truck, when you have a CDL. You simply cannot afford to get tickets in this business. If you do receive a speeding or moving violation ticket, you need to get a lawyer and fight it. Most lawyers can get the charges reduced or thrown out. You may pay the same fine, but it is much better than not being able to work. Any speeding ticket 15 mph is the kiss of death in this business. It is very difficult to cover a driver on insurance with that much over the speed limit. If you have a few years experience you may still find something, as long as that is the only thing on your mvr.
