When you chose to lease out with a company. What are some keys things you look for in a company?

Im in my research stage, i will be returning to work in 3mo. So, far i am considering Malone, Mercer and LS.

Out of those 3, what would be the pros and cons? Please try to keep it civil, i have read the negatives on all 3.

    I look for:

    • steady amount of loads
    • lanes I enjoy
    • work-life balance
    • fuel subsidy
    • good home terminal facility

If it meets the financial requirements and the above, I am happy to settle in long term.

I don't know those companies but I wanted to share. GL!

I can tell you Mercer is a great place to be,you choose hometime areas you want to run quick settlements. you need look at who and how IFTA'S are paid and how base plates work also.there will be pros and cons to every outfit out there always a driver not happy about somthin.I can tell you from my experience that if a driver is not happy at Mercer it's somthing he or she is doing, like their list of this they wont do or wont go.

Mercer pays IFTA's does charge the drivers for it they pay it all,and you can pick and choose your own loads if you wish too,you will have a coordinator to work with you help find the loads and book them, truely NOT a forced dispatch outfit, they awsome to work with.

they will also pay your base plates and take them out of your settelments over a reasonable amount of time without killing you.

we all started some time,Mercer does have a securment class to go to,and they have great drivers to learn from, just be ready for info with an open mind, you can pick up a book about securment to help out also.it's really not that hard to do,just have to think about what your doing.

All good things to look at. Do not get drawn in by "free" anything. Nothing is free. Put a real value on it so you can compare apples to apples. Those paid for plates or ifta or ???? MAY be a great deal but until you run the calculations you really don't know that. Had to laugh at a guy that didn't want to lease to use because he had free plates and pre-pass. Also only getting $1.40/mile range. Those are some expensive plates.
