I agree, Mercer is a good company and I send flats that I talk to that way.

Do you not have flatbed freight or just don't want/need any flatbeds leasing on?

Our model is very different and the premium direct bid freight is light on flatbed. If someone is looking to be as independent as possible, look and book their own FB loads then we will talk. BUT, if you want contract freight (something we will never have as it lends to "coerced" dispatch) then I send people to Mercer or LS. They are large enough and modeled that I feel the drivers do not have to worry about being frozen out if they turn down a load.

Kind of funny that those are the three companies you have it narrowed down to, as they where the same three I had to pick from myself in 2011. They all three work basically the same, self dispatched, do what you want to do when you want to do it. I did not want a computer in my truck telling me when I had hours to drive. I wanted to beable to go in the office during normal hours and talk to whomever I wanted to. I hadn't pulled open deck for over eleven or twelve years, so wanted a little securement refresher. I did not want to be required to have hazmat. Thats what I can remember off the top of my head without being biased.

Malone had what I wanted until I ran with them for a little while and realized differently. (load rates and deductions). I am currently stuck in what I want to do myself. (thinking about my own authority). Good luck in your future endeavors.
