I only did a load for Fedex once, it was a lot of pressure with constant check calls and very tight schedule. Since then I stopped wondering, why do Fedex trucks run like crazy.and get in accidents all the time

I ran for a contractor for them for a couple years, so in all, it's a decent job, usually had plenty of time for delivery. Would leave Dallas on Tuesday morning, and generally get in Saturday Or Sunday, off till tues. There were times we didn't get in till Monday, and still required by fed ex to leave tues, but i had a good contractor, and would generally me another day in those situations.

And the waiting times at the terminals only apply if you don't have a dedicated route.

Never been called or checked on once even if we're running behind.
You must've been really lolly gagging it or your company had a spotty service history with Fedex. They give us plenty of time.

This is true. Some terminals are like black holes. LENEXA, KS - avoid that terminal at all costs. You'll never get out of there.

Again, this is where a dedicated run is extremely beneficial. Extremely rare for me to sit at all while running dedicated.

Right now I'm running wild and paying the price. Sitting about 10 hours now in Atlanta.

It actually was a Landstar brokered FedEx load. I was under impression that all FedEx loads go like that. Thanks for clarifying

I'll bet the load was already late when you picked it up. That can happen with some Fedex sort times around peak season.

Ran twins many years ago for FedEx ground / linehaul from Columbus to to Sacramento (team.) Great money even back then; I just didn't care for the teamie thing 2 well. Dedicated and M-F. . . Yes, CC . . you are right. More details in another thread if y'all wanna search it. My O/O ~/ Lessor was a great guy; never bugged us a bit. Pretty sure he's out of the biz, and I've moved on, but was never an issue at the time. It sure got my feet wet; for sure.
