I have been in business for awhile, but I am now ready to lease someone onto us. What paperwork do I need to do this legally? I just want to make sure I cover all my bases.

Check out OOIDA. They might have a link or some sort of lease agreements you can use. You might be able to copy one of a website of one of the lease companies. Paccar, idealease etc...

I considered leasing someone on to me some time ago. I did research as usual and FOR ME, I decided against it. With CSA 2010 around the corner and other liabilities and paperwork, I didn't want to open that can of worms.
Once again, FOR ME, it wasn't in my best interest but many have done so and have been successful. I second the "check OOIDA" for further info.
Good luck to you!bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Same here its just not worth some bone head driver ruining my safety record. I know there are good ones but the only way I would do it is if I personally knew the driver and since all the drivers I know run their own authority I don't see my self doing that. OOIDA should be able to help they are a very useful organization to all drivers.

i got sick while under a load, put a dependable driver in my truck and he was late for 3 out of 5 appointments in 5 days just reaffirmed why i don't put anyone under my authority or in my truck.the more people u have to depend on to do a job,the less likely it will get done right.or a least to my satifaction
