It's now $35 for loads under 50 loaded miles, regardless of relays. All we need now is practical mileage.

Nailed it man! I was having A LOT of the same issue the OP is having at another Mega here in Canada. It got to the point, that I had to change trucks every 3 days, because they couldn't keep them running. Then they would keep me in the city, so I could get back into my assigned tractor once it was fixed. They never paid me City Payscale, they did Highway hourly, which is 7$ hours less. Constant issues with short haul miles, and them trying to get free moves inside the same zip code. Never had the proper planning or dispatch BOL/PNUM/Delivery Route numbers, etc etc etc etc. If you said anything, they wouldn't scream, but the passive-aggressive BS was so thick you could walk on it. Complain too much, get stuck on Walmart open board multi-drop for no miles, and stranded across the country form home on a reset. Finally had enough, Quit, went to an Power Only OTR company. Day one; got a brand new International LT that will be serviced by the dealership (not a company shop), and 40% more money without asking (Plus Perks). I just hauled one of my old companies loads, in their trailer, on one of my old routes, and made 40% more. While Driving a new truck, that works, is serviced properly, and I don't have to share with anyone. The good jobs are out there, and they aren't with Mega's IMHO.

When I first came to Schneider they said relays would only be dropped with "meat on the bone". Meaning that there would still be a hundred or so miles to go, but that's not true.

    Got another one for tomorrow.

Drive 9 miles to pick up relay
Drive 9 miles to deliver load via live unload

Why can't the driver that had the big trip just finish the delivery? Looks like someone's getting all the mileage pay without the wait. Payoffs?

Because the last driver dropped it Friday night and it can't deliver until Monday.

You're getting paid $40 (minimum) for three total hours of your time, and less than 1 hour off your 70.

10th gear is useless unless on a perfectly level road..9 the gear is where I spend most my time..:crybaby:

So my company was Running those 2014 and 2015 KW 680's with automatics and the one's with 10 speeds were literally dogs. You could run it as a 9 speed and get around reasonably well, 65mph was a shade over 1500 rpm in 9th but if you put it in drive and let it try to shift to 10th it would dog out and drop back to 9 going back and forth with every swell of the road. So the one I had I just drove in manual all the time.. Of course it got sucky fuel mileage, around 7 mpg pulling an end dump with all the aero package. We also had 13 speed autos and those worked best kept in 12th... The problem became obvious, in their quest for fuel mileage they had trucks set up for what we used to call "long legs'. Another words low RPM's at highway speeds programmed for fuel mileage and if you took away the governor it would be a triple digit truck if the torque and HP was turned up. If not for the governor that 2015 KW I was driving would have buried the speedo on a straight road empty. So they had got the ratio in the overdrive gear wrong, not enough power some compromise had to be made.. We have new Petes now with super 10 autos BUT they went with a different ratio in the overdrive gear (10th) so now it actually pulls in that gear, still fairly tall, 65mph is 1250 in 10th instead of 1100 but fuel mileage is actually much better because of the torque range... Sounds geaky but it isn't something your driver manager actually understands nor do most of the guys in your shop apparently. Now as for the jerking while in reverse, that is also a problem with the software in those having to do with clutch engagement, Eaton fixed that also in 2016 models forward...A good clutch in a manual 13 or 18 is far superior but I can back up in this 2017 Pete with at least some control and finesse with the new updates to the software. IMHO they went a little too far towards soft engagement but hopefully they will work on that, I have to push the pedal down more to get clutch engagement but once it does it will creep without bouncing.

    Just so you know :)

Lot's of jobs pay hourly with all benefits paid by company and zero out of pocket from the driver.
