Same here. Started with a bicycle that had a huge basket on the front for newspapers; my uncle used it while in college running a paper route to help pay his tuition. I upgraded to a brand new Cushman Eagle and hired another kid to help me. I drove the scooter and my buddy rode behind me sitting backwards and throwing newspapers. I paid him .75 cents a day and we delivered morning before school and afternoon after school and Saturdays & Sundays. That .75 cents a day went a long way back in the 1950's. Yep, those Sunday papers were thick; we had to put the inserts in each one then roll them up and put a rubber band around each one and if raining put each one in a plastic bag and tie the end of the bag so water wouldn't get the paper wet. During the summers run the paper route and mow lawns. Loved it; never had to ask my parents for money.

Also tried to use a Whizzer for the paper route but, it wasn't dependable enough. You may remember a Whizzer was a motorcycle kit Sears sold that you installed on a bicycle. Had a motorcycle gas tank and was belt driven from the motorcycle engine to the rear bicycle wheel.

none of you have ever heard of DISPUTING your credit report???????

i bet half the truckers on the road have bad credit with collections. the only thing hurting them from getting work. is CSA. not credit.

Don't forget to check your DAC report, because CR England, and other companies like Prime have been known to tell flat out lies on them. Prime just lost a lawsuit about it recently and had to pay up.

I would do the right thing. And that is call them and work something out. After all they did what they said to an extent and you got your ezperience even though it was only 9 months. That will help you in the future.

Good info. I've started the process of paying them back. I can't get over the feeling that they owe me somehow :)

    Thanks for the replies.

They owe YOU? Are you serious?

I'm not a CR England fan by any means, but YOu chose them, they didn't choose you. They didn't wake you up one morning beating on your door to drag you in for training. You APPLIED for that, you went to THEM and ASKED to be ALLOWED to go to thier school, and they laid a contract out. That contract said, We will train you, you agree to work for us for x amount of time. You signed it making it a legally binding contract. Because of that agreement, YOU earned a CDL, because of that job, YOU EARNED nine months experience, but now that the job is not up to your expectations, THEY OWE you? What the hell is wrong with you kids today? Where does your generation get this entitelement crap from? No one OWES you anything. You earn your way in this life or you die in it. Son, NOTHING in this life is free. NOTHING. EVERYTHING has a cost. You chose to leave CR ENGLAND, and in doing so you CHOSE to break your contract. No one owes you anything. You are not owed a chance to succeed, you MAKE that. You aren't owed a paycheck, you EARN that, you aren't owed respect, you EARN that.. CR ENGLAND lived up to thier end, just because you jumped in half ####ed without researching tghe company doesn't make it thier fault. Suck it up buttercup, learn right this second that no one owes you anything at all, get your crap together and get another job, and this time stick with it, or go flip burgers.

Im not sure why Im even replying to this?
I went through my trucking school with a lady.
Her son was a trainer for cr England. She still
couldn't cut the mustard, and was in a cdl school.
She told me stories of bunk house prison sleeping
    arrangements,and unsavory drivers.
I can't help but think that anyone who gets away
with sticking it to these folk should.
I also hate the IRS,and get all giddy when someone
    evades taxes.
I owe everybody, but don't hate on those that get over
    on s-hooks:biggrin_25519:
I don't think the OP had any idea what kinda pile he was stepping into?
    Those ads look soo good

CRE doesn't care about retention. Their turn-over is in the thousands of percents.

Also, I'm pretty sure every company out there is aware of what kind of company CRE is. I wouldn't worry too much about their opinion of a driver considering they are shady as hell as a company themselves.

Um... well, they used to be. I don't know how their lease program works since their recent revamp. That'll be a bruise that will take years to heal, though.

I guess I was just raised different. I was raised under some very basic, yet unchanging and timeless rules. Here are some of them:

1.) You make your own way in this life. You don't ask, nor do you take a handout, you earn your keep...always.

2.) A man (or woman) is only as good as his word. If your word is no good then you are no good, the rule of the handshake applies. a legal document is not needed if you are a man of your word because come hell or high water, you WILL do as you agree to do because your honor, your name, and your worth as a human is tied to it.

3.) Along with rule 2...if you say you are going to do something you do it because no one wants someone who is not dependable being responsible for thier livelihood. You take on a job you do it, you take on a contract, you complete it, even if it puts you at a disadvantage because? See rule #2

4.) You don't blame others for your mistakes. You take full responsibility for your decisions even if they were stupid ones...no...ESPECIALLY if they were stupid ones.

5.) You don't control anyone but you. You decide how you approach every situation and you either do it as a man...(or a woman) or you do it as a failure. Either way it is your choice.
