Legal drive lights?

I just bought one for my pickup and its written right on the box and the light "DOT Approved"

 

Does it have a FMVSS number on it? Chances are it does not and is not legal. Am I sure? Not 100% but I do know in the world of motorcycles this is like an epidemic. Lots of lights and stuff like helmets get "Dot Approved" stamped or stickered on them and are nothing but a forgery.

I'll have to double check. I haven't installed it yet. I'm going to intergrate it into the high beams so it turns off when I dim the lights.

 

I want to mount a retractable rear facing mirror! I've been dreaming of this since all these new headlights came out. Give them the choice of blinding themselves.

 

Any and all hid to halogen light kits are illegal.

There is no dot approval process, there is a process that the manufacturer or importer has to follow and that have to insure complience but more likely than not they just put the words dot approved on the box and sell them.
