I can not think of a violation they could cite you for. However I would say it is an invitation for them to check you out.
I mean how long does it take to close a door? -
IF it is SECURED open !!!!
-
I have never seen a roll up you can lock open. Not saying they don't exist just that it is not the norm is it?
-
Regulations state all equipement and accessories be secured ..................
ie,,,,landing gear handle, spare tire secured, doors latched,........
so if you can't secure the door open, I would guess that you would have to secure it
CLOSED !! -
you run the high risk of that door slamming down and breaking into smithereens........
if the door latch is broken, a drivers favorite tool, "duct tape" will allow you you wrap several layers around the handle, to the icc bumper. or rope, bungie cords. -
Take the time to put the door down,........
It is not worth the possibility of losing your job over something like that,..
We both work for the same company and we both know what the SAFETY dept. is likely to think,..... -
Why in the world would you WANT to run with the door open? Is it just because you are to lazy to close it? Or did it malfunction to where you could not close it?
-
yeah... what the old fart said.
-
I see trailers with liftgates (up) and roll-up doors open all the time, even saw a mail carrier the other day like this. Not closing the door is just laziness.
Markk9 Thanks this.
