Legality of pulling damaged trailer

Didn't your insurance company total it out? If so, leave it at the junkyard.

 

Up here the property owner is responsible for their trees.

That said, to answer your question, you can drive with that no problem.

 

I certainly woulnd't expect any hassles as long as it don't get worse.

And yeah, Somebody has the responsibility to keep the road ways clear.

 

Don't know and shouldn't ask; but isn't there companies out there that can repair that?
Of course, safety is paramount, but seems a shame to just scrap it.
Can't it be fixed and used as a yard trailer or something - if U got it for cheap?
Put rollers on it; (then U got your tires,) get it watertight, then rent it monthly as a storage trailer?

I cut up a reefer trailer one Saturday with a circular saw and carbide blades - for the aluminum.
Cut it all in 3'X5' pieces. Wore a mask and eye protection and long sleeves for the hot chips.
Had a double floor with grating sections; all alum. - then cut off the roof, but sides were steel.
Still sold that remainder for $800.00 to a guy who came and drove it out like that. Crazy.
Got 3 pickups full up to 4 feet high from it. I think your getting a hosing at .07 cents a pound.

I should have took pics: friend of mine wants me to drag a reefer 35 miles to his yard so he can fix it for stationary use (“the reefer is almost new!”)
The electrical box is ripped off the nose, lots of cut wires, rear axle caught fire, no tires on it, all the wires and airlines are burnt off about 6’ in front of the slider, all airbags are burnt off, drivers side is split like someone stepped on a candy bar wrapper for a dozen feet or so/ shredded alum hanging all out, passenger side is burnt thru to the inside wall, melted insulation strands hanging down all underneath for 15’ around the tandems.
I’m not doing that, at all.
Yours doesn’t look awful; long as you don’t load it you’ll be fine to get it home.


I’m sure youve made your decision already. I just didn’t watch the movie til now, n spent 30 minutes looking at the wagon I described earlier today so it became relevant to dragging a damaged trailer.

 

You'd get a lot more than scrap price for that. It definitely looks repairable from what I can see. Even if it's not the tandems alone should be worth 3 or 4k. Aluminum where I live is .40 a lb, I'd cut that beach up if I couldn't get it repaired cheap enough.

 

In pa, property owner not responsible for tree once it falls over property line. I had a neighbor contact me about my tree falling onto his property and destroy his fence and shed. He the one that called his own insurance company and they told him I’m not responsible for it. Only responsible for your own side of property clean up if you want to clean it up and not responsible for damage outside of that
