Hey folks ,
Im wondering what the typical length of a Melton rig is , tractor an trailer .
Melton is using 45 and 48' trailers? Slide tandems and not splits ?
There is quite a bit of recruitment activity on NH Craigslist , has been for weeks now .

most the flats i see are 53 ft

What, nothing on our trucks slide. Split axle trailer, fixed 5th wheel and 48 and 53 foot. If there's a 45 I sure never seen it or heard of it.
Schism Thanks this. -
So...With 48s and 53s.... and the various tractors used...what's total length ?
I'm just trying to get idea of the differences getting into trucking after school is done this week.
I've been driving a single screw International Daycab pulling a 48' dry van trailer and a Freightliner Daycab with
2 drive axles...pulling a 45' flatbed trailer with tandems. Both trucks have eaton 10 speeds.
As far as I know both of the schools trucks are 60' range . -
That's a good question never really thought about it. Only ever worry about load length, width and height
-
And with Melton the length may change but the wheel base is the same on either. They're both California legal.

Just a guess, I've never measured it. I'd say around 67' with a 53' trailer.
