No, we don't do NYC. Too many crying babies who are scared of it. Don't damage the truck, you won't have anything to worry about. If you top a trailer or something, yeah, you'll have to pay for it. Don't do that.

My husband is looking for a new job. He used to work for a food supply company out of Florida. He is considering long haul jobs in order to make more money. He was offered a job with several companies because of his good driving record and also he has certifications in dual and triple loads. He was offered a job with Lessor, but after reading all the horrible things this company has done to drivers I am concerned about him taking a job with this company?

Don't waste your time with lessors they will promise the world and give you nothing

OK so it's Dec 2012 now. So how's it going so far? Any new drivers on board with lessors? What's your experience with them so far? (Morbid curiosity)
-
The drivers that were sticking up for Lessors probably don't work there anymore. There hasn't been a posting since June. I worked there in '05 and it didn't take me too long to say goodbye.

What a sad and dismal situation. Why would any company not want to give a driver miles? Waiting for the best paying loads to become available? 95% of all the drivers on this thread complained about Lessors. 95% that's a lot. So if I'm a driver doing research on a company that I'm thinking about going to work for, and I read these comments, then I'm going to be just a little bit discouraged about coming on board. Truckers report.com is an excellent forum to get information and feedback about companies. I can only imagine how many drivers dodged a bullet after reading about companies here. There is good and bad in everything in life. Pros and cons to everything. What's going to matter at the end of the day is will you be able to make an informed decision based on your research. Lessors has been in business for awhile, and they don't have raggedy equipment. They must be doing something right to stay in business. If there are nefarious business practices keeping them afloat, then drivers will eventually find out. Looking cute going down the road in a brand new Lessors truck wont pay the bills. And all that turnover is bound to affect Lessors in some way. Good luck drivers.

Most of the complaints came from the Dover Fl. terminal. It sucked when we were with them.
The first 3 months we got good miles but then they started to drop off dramatically after that. They told us that we needed to stay out on the road longer but we were already staying out for a month at a time and only getting one decent check out of the month. How is another week out going to get my rent paid if the 4 wks. we were out didn't?! That's completely asinine to think that would work. But we were out of the Dover terminal which is the worst terminal in the company.
The terminal was losing money hand over fist and they started charging the drivers $50 every time they delivered late. It didn't matter if it was b/c they gave you a run you couldn't deliver on time in the first place, they didn't care. Then they started to slip seat us because we weren't getting enough miles in a month and that was messed up b/c all we did was beg for more miles. How are we at fault for not getting enough miles when they are a force dispatch company and we took all the miles they gave us?
By the time we left we were getting nothing but runs so tight there was no way we could deliver them on time so we ended up paying them half our paycheck in fines that they charged us. Of course we were only getting 1000-1500 miles a week so our checks were tiny in the first place. If Lessors has straightened up the Dover terminal then good for them but if not then this forum could save some truckers from letting their family go hungry or be evicted.
So read the comments and remember that in the long run the decision is up to you whether you work for the company or not. If you still are concerned then talk to some of the truckers that work there just make sure that the dispatchers aren't around when you talk to them, they wont tell the truth otherwise they don't want to be punished by losing miles by telling the truth.Kennyworth67 and workinman1962 Thank this.
