Any gearset will howl if you don't set it up right...and I never have cared much for warranties. I refuse to drive a vehicle I'm not happy with hoping it might break so I can get it fixed under warranty. Heck, bought a brand GM crate motor for the wife's Suburban and before I even dropped it in, I voided the warranty with a new cam and valve springs. I doubt a gear swap would affect the warranty, though...as long as it's done right.
