Our trucks are not the problem out there. I recall a NJ Motor Truck Assn. talk where the 'other' diesel powered things [big ships] which were still not on low sulfurr fuel then, were described as polluting more on startup to leave port than all the emissions controlled trucks working the port do all day.....

Now the ships need to burn low sulfur fuel in port but still use bunker at sea for weeks at a time...

What about airlines, military stuff...etc ad nausem.

Nor will you lol. My new lonestar has a cummins. My paccar 579 had the MX13 and was a complete and total pile of burning overfilled dumpsters in a sewage treatment plant. The only thing on it that ill admit was good was the core. Everything else on that peice of garbage broke, caught fire, fell off or exploded. Quite literally in every single case. Sometimes all 4 at once.

Now as for my ISX cummins motor it would be bloody hard to be any worse then my paccar peice of total garbage.....and supriseingly dispite a few blowups it has actully been better and navistar stood behind the warranty on everything to date. Paccar told me to pound sand.

I wouldnt touch an A26 or a maxxfail but so far in impresed with my lonestar and even moreso with navistar....and yes i know you were talking about the maxxforce. Im being difficult because #### paccar sideways with a barbed poleaxe.

Meanwhile I’m just over here with 730k between two 510/1850 MX13’s and I’ll be getting into another new one before long. Maybe the third one will be the one that burns me.

I’m on my second MX, first one was bullet proof. The 2014 has the “standard” injector fouling problem, but Paccar, in their best mood, put in six new injectors after 12 trips to the shop between 100 and 200k.

These are the “new and improved” injectors. I’ll let you know if they make it past 100 K.

Oh god. I went through 3 sets of those new ones in 150k miles before i got one that didnt fail for 200k. Good luck man.

One thing i did find that helped though IF you have issues. Have them pull your EGR high pressure valve and clean it. It sounds dumb but according to my davie my injector pressure dropped a LOT after i did so. A lot of other pressures in the engine did as well and went from bordering on red to middle of green. I THINK it may be the ECM trying to compensate for a restricted EGR and exhaust. And after i did so my injectors stopped grenadeing.

The gen 3’s haven’t been out long enough to put 200k on them.

Perks of being friendly with the local Peterbilt shop: did two cleanings over the last year, had injector codes 3 weeks ago. They did two rounds of cleaner and everything was within spec. Shop manager took it for a test drive and it threw a code on the test drive. Warranty man leans on Paccar and said it’s an ongoing issue with my truck. 3 days later I left with 6 of the gen 3’s in here. So we will be testing them together. Lol

He said 2014? I assume its an epa 13 motor? Or is there a diffrent injector that came out? I know when i did my paccars injectors a couple years ago they said they were a new style conpared to what was in it.

That was my fault for knowing what he was talking about and not reading everything that was typed. I don’t know the timeline of the injectors on the earlier models. But on these epa 21 engines there’s been issues. Paccar extended the warranty out on injectors to just under 500k miles, pretty sure that was to avoid an all out recall. They were stingy with the new ones at first but now seem to be handing them out a little easier.
