Hey what's up guys and gals!
Hardrive here, I wanted to stop in and hopefully dispel some of the untruths that have been floating around lately, as they have begun to effect my business.
I'm sure the first question many of you have is, 'what is involved in a Fine Tune'?
well as i've said in the past, pay attention!
When you buy a radio from me, you get not only a finely tuned radio, but you get service after the sale.
What is the difference between me and the other guys?
I require you to purchase additional items to go along with your radio, in order to make sure you are getting all you can out of it.
The first thing you will need is an antenna analyzer, and i do not mean an SWR meter.
these will run you a couple hundred dollars, but you have to have it if you are going to be able to claim that your radio system is 'fine tuned'.
next you will have to have the right length of coax. i have shown the math involved already in my youtube videos, so please look there for explanations as to why coax length matters.
I will sell you the coax you need.
The big question i always get, (and just don't have the time to answer on an individual basis) is,
"what do you do to the radios?"
well i have thought long and hard about whether or not to answer this one, but i feel like you all know what's important and what isn't so here goes.
I align them.
That's it!
that's the big secret.
no, i do not change out parts inside of brand new radios.
no, i do not alter the circuitry inside of brand new radios.
I know how to align radios, and that's all they need when they are new.
yes, you can get this all done at any shop, but why would you?
you've heard my radios, and you've heard my customers' testimonials.
that should be all you need to know.
I hope that helps some of my potential customers as well as my existing customers.
cleaner is meaner!
those that know it show it!

I understand.
I do not usually involve myself in forum discussions, and you won't catch me on a CB forum ever!
But as i have an affinity for drivers, i wanted to start the conversation here.
as i stated before, there is no magic.
This RF stuff was figured out quite a few decades ago.
I give radios a full alignment and show you how to get the most out of them.
nothing more.

If the gap between your radio and antenna is 4 feet. You ONLY need 4 feet.

Well, I dont know HD, he doesn't know me. I only knew about him when I heard him in Amarillo and a few YT videos.
You don't sound like him to me. I think he would make a more informative post rather than toot his own horn while saying nothing like that. That post you made was a bunch of nothing. One of us is an A-hole either way.rabbiporkchop and SteerTire Thank this. -
What would you like to know?

I'd like to know why my farts are more convincing than you are.

rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Wow! How can you tell all of that from that one post? Several on here know him. If it is not him, it won't take long for the truth to come out. P.S. He can sure enough tune a radio.slim6596 Thanks this.
