Working Texas Intrastate for JB Hunt in the late 80's out of the Dallas terminal, my dispatcher sent me a message to call him ASAP. So I found a payphone and called. He asked me if I had found a pair of loadlocks on the truck I had just slipped into. "Yes, they're strapped to the rear deck".

So he says "I'm leaving at five today. When you get in would you leave them in my desk drawer? The last driver who had your tractor left them behind"

I agreed. Later that night I'm in the terminal on Keist- opening his large bottom desk drawer. One of the night shift dispatchers peers around the corner and asks "What are you doing?" I told him the story and stood both load locks in the bottom drawer.

They're probably still laughing at him in Lowell. (He's a corporate bigshot today and STILL doesn't know squat about trucking).

was dreaming that someone was stealing the truck. In the dream trainer told me he'd be back to get me in the AM and I was watching a movie when the intruder tried to get in. (now not dreaming )I get woken up by the truck moving around and someone having trouble with the door. Quickly gets into the driver's seat and when the hit the ingnition the horn starts blowing. So with only my cpap mask and boxers on I charge the intruder. But it was my trainer. Scared him bad. we had a huge laugh

I'm a bad bad person. I laughed. A lot. And was wondering what scared him most...the mask, or the vision of a man in his skivvies....
