First off, I know this is an old thread.....but I saw a local truck stop mentioned so I couldnt resist.
The food is/was alright but the big draw there for most drivers is the fact that they run a full service fuel island. I actually worked there in high school, pumping fuel, and the driver had better made a scene to keep us from pumping their fuel....otherwise we got chewed on pretty good. Its been a couple of years since Ive stopped by there, so I cant say how it been kept up since the owner died and its under all new ownership and management.

It truly was more of a mom-n-pop style truck stop. And it was actually a truck stop and not a fuel island with a snack bar. They have/had a truck/trailer wash (which I recently saw in passing that its enclosed now), a 24 hour garage with road service, chrome shop, scales, decent food upstairs, drivers lounge (dirty, old, and empty but still a "drivers lounge"), a motel, showers that werent half bad, and while I worked there they were offering a tanning service and a hot tub service by the showers. And for you pervs or lonely drivers, at the back of the lot near the motel, theres an adult book and novelty store in the same parking lot as the strip club. All of this has parking with lakeside views........sorry those were the 35'-40' wide potholes in the gravel areas of the lot. But, all in all, it was a pretty good place to work and stop while traveling.
