    We're all out there to make $. But those of us that are company drivers and lease operators, we have dispatchers we deal with instead of a broker.

    I know how to play the game and I know my company has some freight that pays premium rates. While I do alright, I wanna do better. I have a few dispatchers depending on the region, but my main dispatcher, I want to make him think of me when he's dispatching those great paying loads.

    So do y'all do anything for your dispatch. Maybe a "hey man I thought you might like this" type of gift?

    When I was running California often, I'd slip the dispatcher and payroll clerk some nice pills from Stockton.
    They were so excited when they saw me and a few other drivers pull into the terminal, knowing how much we like them and we just returned from Stockton.

    I'm going to negotiate for two more trucks. I'm taking the finance manager a $25 gift certificate to Top Golf, and my salesman two $22 DBacks tickets, for him and his wife.

    And I'm giving these to them before we start, because it does get very real in there. I want them to know that I still love them through the process when I'm insulting their ancestors.

    Well, Im not gonna supply them with drugs lol.

    Ive been trying to think, what might make this guys job easier? Between his cell and his office line, that dude is never off the phone. I thought maybe a nice headset, but Id bet he'd already have one if he wanted one.

    He's got a brand new F150. I wad thinking of something cool for it.

    Oh boy, last year I spent more money on holiday gifts and little things during the year than some made for a month. The best broker/agent that made me a lot of money ended up with a lot in their pockets.

    Nothing unethical or improper but it is all business.

    The last thing I need in my life is another woman. My wife and stepdaughter are enough to drive me to drink sometimes. I dont need another chick obsessed with me, lol.

    I was thinking about this today. I work at a pretty small company. I was thinking of ideas to do something nice for them.

    The last company I was with I sent a platter of cookies and pastries at Christmas. Another year a few codriver friends all chipped in to buy the whole dispatch team pizza.

    When I used to paint houses I always would give the guys at the paint store gift cards and for some reason whenever someone was looking at paint colors and mentioned needing a painter, they would give them my number....

    Nothing wrong with greasing the gears...
