its been 5 years since Verizon, I had a Droid, that's what it then. my experience with them has been ovet priced. I have a Samsung 4 today. I'm using straight talk. it supposedly uses Verizons network because Verizon sells the package. I 4g with slow speeds in certain areas. and 4g with good speed in major cities.
I went Verizon before smart phone's took over, I had to walk around my house until I found a spot with reception which was usually out front. their answer, I now need a tri-mode.
yes they've improved much.
Let's talk cell phones!

I have sprint for family phone's, it works fine because of the location and att u verse, u verse works great in the house. wouldn't want it anywhere else.
used net10 for awhile, now trying straight talk.. my driod and iphine vanished. been using no contract for my self since. -
Different phone models will have different signal and or software issues that will effect signal quality.
I'm not up to speed on the Straight talk deal,.. but from what I understand,.. they are like a 3rd party reseller of major cell carriers. Similar to the pay as you go phone services. As a result,.. its my understanding that they do not have access to all of the cell towers that a direct customer would have. Also read that they also get de-rated service. Not sure how true that is.
Yes,.. Verizon is over priced. My monthly bill is ridiculous. No argument there. But there is no one,.. and I have tried them all,.. that comes even close to the service coverage area that Verizon serves. If I have a signal,.. 95% of the time its an LTE signal,.. very fast. I can park almost anywhere and still watch streaming TV and movies to help me relax and fall a sleep. Then get up in the morning and still be able to call anyone or use the internet for business or what ever reason. This is why I pay more to have verizon.
If you are not OTR,.. and have set routes you travel in,.. then I would find a provider that works best in the areas you need it to work in. For me,.. I need to have the best most reliable phones on the best most reliable network with the largest coverage area. My ability to work and stay in business depends on it. Until someone has a better priced service that provides the same quality and coverage area that Verizon has,.. I'll keep bending over and pay the premium.
Besides,.. for me,.. its all a tax write off anyway.
HurstMidwestResident, dca and mp4694330 Thank this. -
Someone sounds spoiled 3ven so, if yah got it to spend, have fun and spend. I suppose I might if had it or could justify. I'm not convinced on Verizon based my own experiences. I'm glad others are happy with it. priorities win
straight talk isn't near enough to meet what I want but it'll do for now. -
iPhone on Verizon at only $15/mo/line for talk n text on a family plan... Thinking of going with T-Mobile for an unlimited data only package while keeping the Verizon line for talk/text.

I swore I wouldn't go back to Verizon after they screwed me over to the tune of a grand back in the 90's but I did after Sprint shut off my data while I was on an unlimited plan. According to the fine print it was all legal because I was in a roaming area. I now have a lot better coverage and it is actually a couple bucks cheaper than Sprint.
dca Thanks this. -
