I dont do online gaming out on the road. I do like to do some while at home.

I mainly watch movies, email, check weather, road conditions, google satellite view, call brokers, shippers, receivers, call my wife,.. friends and kids. I order permits and other things online.

As for cost,.. its not cheap. 4 phones, unlimited everything, 40 gb data for wifi hot spot. I honestly have to check with my wife,.. she pays the bill online,.. I believe its somewhere between $240 - $260 a month.

Have plans to cut the data in half which should drop the bill by $75 month. This will allow me to cover a Direct TV satellite system for the truck. Since most of what I use the data for is streaming netflix and hulu.

LOL no,.. but quickly approaching it. Keep needing more and more data,. and it raises the bill each time. Thats why I want to get a satellite system for the truck,.. should be able to stay under 20gb month data on the phone if I stop streaming so much video.

go in to your settings. And drop the speed rate. If it's possible.

I have my netflix account set at .3mbps. It works just as good as 7 gigs HD. Instead of using my allotment in one night. I can go a month now on 1/4 my allotment.

I wanted to update this to answer the question. I finally had a chance to go to an area I know with 100% certainty is a roaming area for Verizon prepaid MVNOs. I went up I-65 from Nashville, TN to Louisville, KY and points beyond. My previous Big Red prepaid MVNO would go into roaming at the KY/TN line and be back on Verizon towers just south of Lebanon Junction, KY (100 miles or so). Stopping at a rest area along the way, I had full talk and text ability on my Selectel phone (Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx) but when I tried to log on to the internet for any reason (Google Play Store, Weather website via Opera Mini, Weather Apps, TTR via Chrome browser, etc) it would not connect. My signal strength was 87db so it was strong enough to log onto the internet but because I was in a roaming status, it wouldn't allow the connection.

In summation, I can now confirm using Selectel, you can talk and text while roaming but no data.
